Portfolio of Electronic Resources
The ‘Standards for Graduating Teachers’ requires teachers to “access and use a range of teaching and learning resources and technologies to support student learning.” As teachers, we have the critical responsibility of ensuring that students develop the skills required so that they can be empowered within a technologically sophisticated society (ACARA 2012).
However, for many teachers, their technological knowledge is below what is required to meet the educational demands of students in the 21st century (Karchmer-Klein and Shinas, 2012). To improve our knowledge and confidence with new technologies we need to be consistently reflecting on our experiences with technology both in and out of the classroom. We must discover new resources and develop the skills and knowledge to be able to integrate these new technologies and resources into our lessons in innovative and engaging ways.
This website has been designed to introduce teachers to a range of ICT-based technologies and resources that are available for FREE on the Internet.
